Samsung Innovation Campus: Coding and Programming Course

Earners of this badge have learned the essential foundations of Python and gained fundamental programming skills. This course consist of 4.5 months of lectures and exercises. Learning Objectives ▪ The C&P course goal focuses on teaching Python programming and algorithm and data processing with Python for students’ readiness and competency for quality jobs. ▪ Students will build the programming fundamentals by learning Python. They will learn from the basic Python programming to the core data structures such as lists, dictionaries, and tuples to perform complex data analysis. ▪ As the algorithm is pivotal in computer science, students will understand algorithms using Python from the beginning. They will learn to apply abstract data types and understand linear search and binary search to solve search problems and solve sorting algorithm problems using Python. ▪ Finally, students learn data processing and data visualization using Python. This does not cover in-depth data processing. Rather, it covers data processing that requires K12 mathematics. ▪ While learning Python programming, students will also experience planning programs (pseudo code and flowchart), project-based learning, and pair programming. This learning experience helps students improve their soft skills such as problem-solving skills and collaboration. Course Prerequisites ▪ Basic Computer Skills - a basic level skill for using computer applications including web browsers and spreadsheets ▪ Basic Math Competency - being competent in K12 Grade 6-8 mathematics (Pre-algebra): Arithmetic, Equation and Expression, and etc. ▪ No previous experience in programming is required.
